ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Singer/songwriter Damon Carter is well-known and in demand on the Boston Music scene. Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Damon began studying piano at the age of 6. Though his training in piano is Classical, he learned Gospel from playing piano and organ in church as a teenager. Damon's father imparted the blues and jazz to Damon through the likes of Ray Charles, Jimmy Smith, and Duke Ellington.

These influences led to a transition from Classical piano to studies in Jazz piano and ultimately admission to Berklee College of Music. After earning his Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee, Damon went on to perform on Boston's hotel circuit as a solo pianist and singer. During this time, he joined the band EYE 2 EYE. The band's tremendous success throughout the 1990's (3 time Boston Music Award winners for Best R&B Act) and into the 21st century has helped open many doors for this accomplished musician.

Some of those include songwriting, music production, composing music for television and touring parts of North America and Europe. Most recently, Damon has written for artists such as The Backstreet Boys, Queen Latifah, Lisa Lisa, and Cher. Besides performing and songwriting, Damon has been a music educator in the Boston area for 14 years teaching piano and voice.

'This Party' is an R&B EXPLOSION!!!
The title song especially is slammin with all the elements. The hook is infectious and the overall groove is sensationally smoothe.

Wow versatility, word man with deep and insightful vibe and groove
"The Artist" is a pop hit - grabbed me from the get go and I became an instant fan. I am rock guy who appreciates all well written, performed, and produced music. This collection of tunes delivers. Not surprised this musician has list of amazing credits. "No Matter What" brings back memories of where I was in 1992. "Paid ma Dues" says it...This guy can coin a phrase and melody...Nice Nice Nice...
