Damon Dazzles in New Single
As a veteran journalist who has written about and reviewed music among other things, I must say that the new single is quite amazing. Today, while many "superstars" dazzle with studio-enhanced sounds that can't be replicated during a live performance, Damon Harris should be an example of what a singer/vocalist should always be: REAL.

Young ones, yes, the Rihannis, Chris Browns, Gagas and even the Beyonces of the industry, Damon Harris takes you to school on "You are my Woman." He takes you to the old school and provides a quiz on what the so-called new school should be all about. This is music at its finest. It conjures up what Marvin Gaye sung about in music being "the soul of the man." It certainly underscores what Teddy P was singing about when he said he loved music, "any kind of music .... just a whole lot of music." Today, we get any kind of music and a whole lot of noise. Just not from Damon Harris on this terrific effort.

The surprising thing is that Damon's voice seems to have been given a rebirth of sorts. It never went away, to be sure, but he sounds 25 years younger! There is that classic Eddie Kendricks sound, but also a fresher 2012 sound too.

You put it all together and what you get is probably what Michael Jackson was hearing when he nicknamed Damon Harris "The Voice!" long before others, like the late great Whitney Houston were dubbed "The Voice" Damon already held that title and wore it like the Grammy-winning legend he really is. The single is more than worth buying, it's worth keeping!
