American Gypsy music,
In 1969 a new era of music was born - American Gypsy Rock was introduced to the world. In the past their was classical, jazz, blues, folk, country, and of course, rock & roll.
In the 1960's, the era of the hippie brought forth a blend of all these musical genres by taking music into the electronic age and bringing a new style of music called psychedelic music. As psychedelia exploded on the American scene, there was a young musical prodigy who had an idea to take American music and give it an international flare. He called it Gypsy Rock.
The trilogy is the beginning and end of Damon's recordings while Gypsy Rock continues to grow throughout the world. This exciting musical genre is becoming a facet of expression by new artists in many venues. Damon, a nomad at heart, blended the music of the mid-east, India, and South America, with the underpinnings of Rock & roll, and brought it to the world. With the electric bass and a full drum set as the underpinnings, he added finger cymbals and hand drums for a more fluid rhythm. While using a modal type of tuning to give it an exotic flair, Gypsy Rock was born.
A decade later a 45 rpm record priced at 25 cents was found by a Canadian DJ at a flea market . The record album titled "Song of a Gypsy", was eventually to become listed in the book, "Goldmine's Guide to Rare and Collectible Record Albums" at a value of $3,000.00. Since that time it has been reproduced by many record pirates. Due to the huge success of the album, eventually Damon himself put it on not only vinyl, but also in digital form on CD.
2 decades later Damon wrote and recorded his second album, "Gypsy Eyes". Then, in 2110, the long awaited 3rd and final album of the gypsy trilogy, "Gypsy Finds a Home", was released to complete his trilogy.
This musical trilogy is the beginning and end of Damon's recordings. Yet Gypsy Rock is growing throughout the world as new artists explore this exciting style of music.
