Dancing Llama Records is pleased to announce the debut release of Dana Wilson’s “Transition”. Born and raised in Detroit, singer/songwriter Dana Wilson has put together a CD of diverse original compositions with influences from Classic Rock, Country, Americana, Modern Rock and more. This collection is a reflection of Dana’s transitions through love and life….experiences that led him to pick up pen, paper and guitar and express himself through his music.

Tracks
1) “If I Come to You Tonight” Straight forward up-tempo rocker in the vein of Tom Petty
2) "Angelina" Dreamy acoustic tones and a soft Latin beat form the bed for this seductive moody track
3) "Too Damn Hot for Love" Rockabilly roots with gritty harmonica from Henry Feinberg and bluesy guitar from Rick
4) "Cristina" Melodic pop/rock with Dana’s lead vocal coasting on the lush backup vocal by Sheila Landis
5) "That’s the Way" A pop song with a hint of Neil Young inspired country
6) "Angel of Mercy" Retro tones set the mood of this minor key hard rocker
7) "Survive or Surrender" Modern rock with a touch of metal meld with the dark lyrical themes
8) "Hide ‘N’ Seek" South Western riffs and motifs cast the mood with the soaring trumpet of Dwight Adams
9) " Unspoken Words" Intimate modern folk track simply performed with voice and acoustic guitar
10) "Washing the Windows of my Mind" Island rhythms abound in this homage to the overworked. Larry Fratangelo is featured on percussion
11) “Michelle” A soft country waltz is the backdrop to this homage to an old love.
12) “Midnight Lover” A nod to early rock and doo-wop music with a dose of classic country thrown in

Inspired by early rock and classic country, Dana Wilson’s formative years were spent listening to artists like Ricky Nelson, Johnny Cash and Johnny Rivers. Later influences include The Beatles, Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen. Rick Matle acting as songwriting partner and musical director helped create the final vision and sound, bringing in the “right” musicians for the parts and simply “playing a lot of guitar”. Matle is a musician equally adept at jazz, blues and rock, lending to the tracks a strong rhythmic foundation. Larry Fratangelo plays drums and percussion throughout the CD adding subtle Latin nuance to some tracks and rocking hard when needed. Henry Feinberg adds his fluid harmonica on two tracks with his harmonica work especially notable on “That’s the way”. Sheila Landis and Cheryl St. Rebel add smooth vocal harmonies to several tracks.
