The real deal for jazz lovers!

These songs are reinterpreted treasures and the variety makes it great for any mood. When I need a pick-me-up, I put play "On Green Dolphin Street" which is nine minutes of magic. The only thing I don't like about this CD is that I was not there to hear this music live! It's amazing and inspired, and what sound quality for a live performance. If you love genuine jazz, you need to buy this!

Hat's off! A great artist has made his debut.

If you want to know what real artistry is, listen to Dan Dance's newly released CD entitled DAN DANCE TRIO - LIVE AT THE PY. ("Py" refers to a well-known Milwaukee bistro called "Chip and Py" where the DAN DANCE TRIO weaves its fanciful spells.) The playing of most jazz pianists I have heard is two-dimensional. That is, while keeping a strict beat, they rarely venture beyond playing on one dynamic level. Classically trained Dan Dance performs with an iridescent tonal palette that gets right to the heart strings. This, combined with technical brilliance, and, in addition, imaginative and deeply sensitive improvisations, makes Dan Dance's performances nothing short of magical. Excellent, too, are his collaborators: Bassists George Welland and Mike Britz, and drummer Andy LoDuca.
Dan Dance is a model for all musicians. This CD is a must for serious music lovers.
