notes
Daniel Holt Bohannon is a banjoist, guitarist and songwriter. He began playing the guitar at the age of 10 under the direction of Russell Watkins, and at the age of 11 he was introduced to the banjo by John Ritchie. Daniel's musical style is greatly influenced by Bela Fleck, Tommy Emmanuel, Tony Rice and Bryan Sutton. By invitation, he became a member of the Threads of Hope, a southern gospel bluegrass group, where he plays banjo and guitar. Daniel is an honor student at Hope Christian Academy and is a faithful member of Hope Baptist Church in Winder, Georgia where he sings in the choir and plays the guitar for the children's ministries. Daniel recognizes his musical talent as a gift from God and always strives to do his best for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Daniel has dedicated this album in memory of Coach Ronney Teague, Boy's Basketball and Baseball Coach at Hope Christian Academy in Winder, GA.

author: McDowell FamilyWhat a terrific debut solo album! The song arrangements and instrument selection showcase the versatility and talent of this emerging young artist. His compilation of traditional old-time hymns is sure to touch the hearts of many. The up tempo tunes praise the Lord with the life and energy of the bluegrass sound. He adds even more flavor through his selection of contrasting slower tunes filled with a quiet spirit of peacefulness and worship. The album leaves you feeling as if you were sitting at the edge of a beautiful mountain meadow beside a gently flowing brook... just you and the Lord.
His unique style is fresh and exciting.
author: S. D.I really like bluegrass music (all kinds), and I was raised in a very devout Southern Baptist family. So, as you can imagine, Daniel's CD really takes me back home. I've probably heard those songs a million times each, but his unique style makes them all fresh and exciting.
The entire CD is very enjoyable.
author: Joe WatkinsThe entire CD is very enjoyable. The songs with the hammer dulcimer were especially nice to listen to. With a young man using such a selection of old hymns with a variety of instruments it will be very interesting to see how the Lord uses him.
Listening to this album is refreshing and pleasant.
author: John Ritchie, Jr.This kid is going places! …As a longtime banjo picker, I had the honored pleasure of introducing Daniel to the banjo a few years ago, and to hear him now is amazing (not only with the banjo, but also with the guitar, mando, bass, and hammer dulcimer). Listening to this album is refreshing and pleasant. With these uplifting hymns, it makes a great way to unwind at the end of the day and is a sure cure for the drive-home blues. To me, hearing old hymns played on the hammer dulcimer takes me back to a beautiful, cool mountain meadow on a glorious spring day. Certainly, the beauty of God’s creation is reflected in this music.
