Daniel James is a Christian Country songwriter and recording artist from Cottonwood, California.
He has a passion for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through his music and songwriting. Born on May 1, 1967 on the same day as Country star Tim McGraw, Daniel also writes and sings moving songs from the heart, but built on Christian values.

Several of his songs have done well with Christian radio across the U.S. and overseas and he continues to write and record newer originals.

"I want my music to not only change the world for good today, but to keep making it better for years to come," says Daniel.

From Daniel: About “Gracie’s Home”
Gracie was a Godly woman who took in my father-in-law from childhood and mothered him after his own mother had died. She was like a grandmother to my wife. My children and I were very close to her as well. During a financially difficult time in our lives in which we became homeless, Gracie took us in until we could afford to buy a home of our own. While living at Gracie’s home we had some of the best times ever, becoming closer than ever and making memories that last. I wrote “Gracie’s Home” soon after her passing, both to honor and remember Gracie and to show the love Christ has for each of us who walk with him, who show love and grace to one another.

From Daniel: About “Prayer on my Lips”
No matter what it is you are facing, whether it is a physical or a spiritual battle, there is hope when you put your trust in God. Prayer is like putting on your armor before going into battle. It is surrendering yourself completely into the Father’s hands, so that whatever happens, you can be sure it will be right and in accordance with His purpose and will. I wrote “Prayer on my Lips” while facing a difficult battle of my own, in which I had desperately trusted in God to intervene. God proved Himself faithful and delivered me! We should always be looking ahead to His promises, never fixing our eyes upon the storm itself, but upon the blessing that is just ahead when we put our hope and trust in God.

Daniel is married with four boys and a girl, his wife and children often being the inspiration for his original songs. He and his wife, Tammy lead home church, worship and bible studies. Daniel does concerts in churches, coffee houses, parks and other venues open to Christian music.

“Most of my music has a country flavor,” says Daniel, “but I also sing and write Christian contemporary music.”
