In Search of Fire

by Daniel Stratman

I'm always trying to express myself in new ways. Using styles that have always made an impression on me, whether it was swing, blues, folk, or rock, I like to write music with those rhythms & styles in mind.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is my first CD and was released on Rainband records. Before I signed with them, I had already written a lot of music, so I combined some of those early songs with several new ones to give the CD a broader range of style and expression. There's feel of pop/jazz, country, rock, & even R&B on this recording. Highlights are: "A Place called Mulege," "Doggone Shame," "Oceano," and "One of These Days." Recorded at one of Southern California's most prestigious studios on analog, the music has a warm presentation that introduces me as a songwriter, singer, and guitarist. It also laid the ground work for recording with some great session players, and especially a few of the musicians that I was performing with on a regular basis.
