Dani-Lynn is well-known to local audiences for her genuine, polished performances, but is about to make herself known to millions across Canada and the USA.
Dani-Lynn has recently returned from Nashville, Tennessee, where she recorded her debut full-length album, "You're Not Alone", a collection of original songs of love, hope and courage. Produced by Paul Jefferson, the album features an all-star cast of Nashville musicians, including a special guest appearance and a co-writing credit with country music legend, Lisa Brokop. Stay tuned to your radio for this CD is sure to gain loads of airplay and the attention of fans far and wide.
Born and raised in rural Alberta, Canada, Dani-Lynn was exposed to music from the time she entered life, soon she and her siblings were singing along to the music they heard on the radio. She cites her earliest influence as teen star, Hilary Duff, identifying with Hilary's music and her message to stay true to your dreams. She decided at that time to follow in those footsteps, envisioning herself on stage and becoming an artist "parents like their kids listening to".
As a young child Dani-Lynn first studied clarinet, playing in the school band. Following that she studied voice at a nearby college and in recent years, guitar. At the age of ten she began writing songs, discovering a passion for both being a wordsmith and a composer. It was during her first visit to Nashville, when at the age of 14, her songwriting began to take form. It was in Nashville she had the fortunate opportunity to co-write with several Tennessee based songwriters, including Larry Wayne Clarke, Joe Sins, Karen Staley, Sarah Majors and Max Abrams. Dani-Lynn recorded five of these songs and created her first EP, "Dreams". With the encouragement of these songwriters, her family and music business specialists, Dani-Lynn continued on her songwriting path, her songs becoming more developed over time and her catalogue growing.
From early childhood Dani-Lynn aspired to the stage, dreaming of sharing her music with the world. She envisioned other youth listening to her songs on their IPods and
singing along, just as she used to do as a youngster. Throughout her early teens Dani-Lynn performed at local coffee houses, trade shows and music festivals, as well as making appearances at the world-renowned Calgary Stampede. These performances honed her skills as a musician and she gained invaluable experience as a stage performer. She also entered (and made top ten out of 600 entrants) at the iPOP competition in Los Angeles, came in at the top 10 for the Calgary Folkfest song contest, opened for the George Canyon concert in Olds, AB, and in November, 2011, made a guest appearance at the legendary Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN. Most recently, Dani-Lynn was nominated by the Alberta County Music Association for the 'Female Artist of the Year' and 'Fan's Choice' Awards.
In July 2011, Dani-Lynn took a chance and wrote to one of her musical heroes, Lisa Brokop, on Facebook. She was thrilled to receive a prompt reply from Lisa, she'd listened to Dani-Lynn's songs and heard a budding talent on the rise. Dani-Lynn boarded a plane and flew to Nashville to meet the star and her husband, it was then the pair offered to produce an album for her. Thus Dani-Lynn's dream continued to unfold, in the fall of 2011 she flew back to Nashville to record "You're Not Alone" in Paul Jefferson's studio. The result of these efforts is a sparkling new release and great excitement about her future in the music business.
With her career taking off, Dani-Lynn has created a special program to tour to local high schools in hopes her inspiring messages touch the hearts of other youths. The program will feature songs from "You're Not Alone", including such gems as Pressure To Be Perfect, Believe, You're Not Alone, and Grandpa's Song (Hero).
