I set out with this ep to create some of the most soaring, powerful music I have ever heard. I wrote somewhere around 50 songs in the period between my last album and the sessions for this EP, so it was hard to pick which songs to record. It's a nice problem to have, because it allowed me to set the bar for what gets included really high. I owe a lot of credit for this music to my producer/collaborator Scott Mathews and Tom Leukens, who engineered the sessions(and played some mean viola!) During the process of recording these songs, I think we all realized that we were working on something really special. Something we really had to get right. I think what I am most proud of about this EP is that we spent 6 days tracking these songs and came out with better music than bands who spend months, even years recording their albums. I am very proud of the level of production detail and the high standard of musicianship and songwriting contained within these 5 songs.
