Chris Van Sickle, Brent Norman, Dan Mock, and Ryland Haggis refined their sound collaborating night after night, mostly as sidemen for more established acts on the Canadian club circuit. Through the connections they made on the road, they began playing autonomously under the name Take It Home.

After traveling cross-country over the summer months in a well-serviced van, TIH returned home to record together in their scenic jam space on Prospect Lake Road. But eager to keep on traveling, DM packed up and moved to west end Toronto to reconnect with his south-east central constituents. Among them were musicians Kenny Neal Jr., Kristin Cavoukian, James McKie, Danny Simmons and Chris Stringer. The music of the Canadian west coast crashed into the heart of the city, putting the finishing touches on an album that Take It Home has come to refer to as the “Prospect Lake Sessions.”
