Album Notes

Suddenly Summer may be the only family cd to earn both an iParenting ‘Hot’ award and an audition for the Shure Microphones/Sam Ash sponsored Original Sessions National Band Search 2008/2009. Yes, that’s right, Danna Banana performed at a pub on a Friday night! For adults only! After the jam band and before the latin-funk combo!
“We were a little surprised that you entered,” said search organizer John, “but we liked your music. It’s fun.”

danna banana has that kind of crossover appeal, and Suddenly Summer is filled with wide-open, breezy pop tunes perfect for a sunny summer day with the top down, the volume up, and a load of kids singing along in the back seat. And his high-energy remake of 'Top of the World' by The Carpenters and funky version of The Kinks 'Supersonic Rocketship' have the same inspired energy he brings to all his material.

So get your sillies out and your groove on for the funniest, funkiest summer album in a long, long while. Wherever you go this summer bring a towel, hat, bug spray, lots of water—- and don’t forget the Suddenly Summer!

We, as a family, can't seem to get enough of Dana Banana's music. My kids listened to it in Pre-k and still follow now that they are in elementary school. What can we say but we love it!! The music is fun, silly, catchy and overall just spectacular. Keep putting out the tunes and we'll keep listening!
