Debra Ann Wessler is an Alaskan singer, songwriter, guitar & banjo player. Her first recording project was "Story Behind The Song", released in 1999 and 2003.
On "Story Behind The Song", Deb is joined by Laura Hall (harmony vocals), Gary Markley (banjo), Joe Page (mandolin), Dawn Lindsay (violin), Terry Klemensen (upright bass), and Tony Restivo of Girdwood's, The Photonz, on Electric Bass.
Debra Ann Wessler's "Story Behind The Song" captures her penchant for melody, rhyme, banjo-lickin' and guitar-pickin' goodness. The 11-song disc feature's a who's who of Alaskan bluegrass, jam band, and folk musicians, all engineered on a backdrop of violin, mandolin, and banjo compliment. Wessler's deep alto and Laura Hall's background vocals add rich texturing - breathing life into the simple, stripped down album's acoustic melancholy. Matt Hopper (The Anchorage Press)
