Danny Fast Fingers releases his third Texas album, “Two Angels,” Sept. 25, 2010
For the first time in his career, he worked with an outside producer, Jamie Oldaker (producer of Willis Alan Ramsey and drummer with Eric Clapton, The Tractors) who also played drums on the album. The one-two punch of Oldaker as co-producer and drummer/percussionist provide the songs on the album with a solid punch and tightness. The album was recorded at The Zone Recording Studio in Dripping Springs, TX; recorded and mixed by Pat Manske and Mike Morgan.
As usual, Danny uses his 12 string guitar as the core of all the songs; different cuts showcase his multi-instrumental abilities. On the album one can hear Danny play Hammond organ, bass, piano, saxophone, electric sitar, electric guitar, banjo, pedal steel and harmonica. Most tracks include Danny’s live music sidekick, Debra Parr on bass.
As a songwriter, Danny dabbles in pop, rock, folk, funk, country and blues with influences diverse as Waylon Jennings, Tommy James, The Byrds, Chic, Jerry Garcia, and The Doors. The album contains 10 originals and a cover of Sky Saxon’s “Just A Dance” that will be included on a soon to be released Sky Saxon tribute CD set on GRA Recordings.
