I’m at a point in my life where I feel an inherent need to ‘give back to society’, and as a songwriter I know I have the opportunity to potentially reach people around the world. This is my intention with these two songs. I have seen in the past how a song when associated with a specific cause can instantly make that cause more recognizable (e.g. what ‘We Are The World’ did for famine-relief in Africa). This is my intention with ‘Say Thank You to a Veteran’ and ‘Where to Now?’ as they apply to assisting our U.S. Veterans and our ongoing bout with global warming.
I can tell you briefly that I wrote ‘Where to Now?’ back in 1991 when I first started noticing that the seasons I experienced as a child seemed to disappear and that this ‘blending of our seasons’ continues to get worse. In May of 2008 I was asked to ‘MC’ a fundraiser for a veterans support group called VETWORK. The information I gathered from my research regarding the trouble our Veterans face was so startling to me that I knew I had to do something. I immediately started working along with VETWORK President Joe Arata in raising awareness at various events and speaking and performing on specific radio and internet venues. I actually wrote ‘Say Thank You to a Veteran’ on this past Veterans Day. I continue to speak on behalf of VETWORK and various environmental organizations at all of my performances as well as specific charitable events.
I sincerely thank you for listening to this cd and I hope it inspires you to find it within your heart to know that I (we) need your help in raising awareness for our U.S. Veterans and to put an end to global warming.
Peace, Love & Light
