Album Notes

The Dan Rufolo Trio is a New Jersey/New York based jazz group consisting of Dan Rufolo-piano, Bill Thoman-bass, and Arthur Vint-drums. Rufolo and Thoman's association dates back years earlier to a chance meeting while playing in a jazz improvisation workshop resulting in periodic later duo performances. The trio was completed with the addition of Vint in the winter of 2009.

While the group's main focus is original music in particular odd meters and free form improvisation, their influences include the Keith Jarrett Trio, Terence Blanchard Quintet, Paul Motion Trio, and the various incarnations of Chick Corea's bands. The trio’s music will guide you on an exploration and lead you to discover simple truths.

Their debut album, "Novelty", presents four compositions by Rufolo, three by Thoman and an addition track composed by Swiss pianist Adrian Frey. The CD was released this summer- to buy a copy please send an email to danrufolotrio@yahoo.com
