Dan Titus started taking Bagpipe lessons in 1968 from Frank MacLachlan. He was a charter member of the Atlanta Pipe Band
in 1971 and attained the position of Pipe Sergeant, in 1973 he won the prestigious "Best Piper in Georgia" award at the
Stone Mountain Highland Games piping competition. While serving a six year tour in the U.S. Coast Guard, Dan played in New Zealand, Australia and Antartica. After completing his tour in 1980 he joined the John Mohr McKintosh Pipes and Drums where he was elected to the position of Pipe Major before leaving in 1986. Since then Dan has played solo and in concert with military bands around the world
for Naval and Marine Corps ceremonies, including playing
on the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor and playing
Amazing Grace with the U.S. Marine Band atop Mt Suribachi
for the 50th anniversary of the Battle for Iwo Jima.
He is currently Pipe Major for Fort New Inverness, an Atlanta based Garrison of the 78th Fraser Highlanders.
Proceeds from this CD go to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.

love the cd

i love the cd. we are using it for our wedding and i can't wait. i love the trumpet voluntary with the bagpipes, it changes the whole song and makes it different. i bought the cd specifically for that song, however after listening to the rest of the cd, we will be using at least 3 more for the wedding ceremony!
