Album Notes
"Family Dance" is the follow up to the acclaimed "Rocket Ship Beach" CD from Dan Zanes on the Festival Five label. This is the sound of friends getting together with electric and acoustic guitars, fiddles, tubas, accordions, harmonicas, tambourines, drums, banjos, mandolins, and voices, to sing and play traditional and original songs.

Family dance is a natural blend of folk, rock and roll, fiddle tunes, a capella hip hop, and dancehall- musical traditions of one sort or another updated for the 21st century in the relaxed and soulful style that made "Rocket Ship Beach" so popular with families around the world.

Special guests include Rosanne Cash, Barbara Brousal, Loudon Wainwright III, Sandra Bernhard, Rankin' Don a.k.a. Father Goose, The Sandy Girls, Donald Saaf, and The Rubi Theatre Company.

Love it. Appealing to adults as well as children.
Love this CD. Very refreshing from other children's music which my child may love but can be quite annoying to me... This is good stuff from an adult's as well as child's perspective.

My daughter and I love this cd.We also heard the song All around the kitchen on noggin and I loved it just as much as my 21/2 year old.It is nice do listen to a childrens cd that we all can rock out to.Our whole family are now Dan Zanes' fans!!

My two year old and I love this CD. She especially likes to watch me act out the lyrics to "All around the kitchen". We bought a copy for our friends because they love hearing us sing the song and dance (or run around in a circle cock-a-doodle-doodle-dooo!) Thanks for this CD. It's so much fun!

Doodle doodle do!!!!
My 17 month old knows the sign for "more" and he LOVES 'All Around the Kitchen', he smacks his hands together so hard I think he might hurt himself! He spins, bounces and says "doodle doodle doo". We have to listen to it at least 4 times in a row before he lets me move on to the other great songs! I'm a special education teacher and I took it to school and the kids LOVE it! Thank you for kid and parent friendly music! More!

Terrific CD for Kids (and adults too!)
Finally a fun and smart CD for children that won't irritate the heck out of their parents. It truly has some great songs that, instead of making you cringe, will have you tapping your toes and singing along. The creative artwork for the CD jacket is very special as well. Dan Zanes is a hit with my 3-year old...and me!
