Album Notes

OVERVIEW:

Daphne Blue has an All-Star Cast of musicians and songwriters, who have performed with some of the most notable Rock, Blues, & Folk artists of all-time.

The musicians on the Daphne Blue project have performed with or collaborated in the studio with the following artists:

Albert King, Tom Waits, Eurythmics (Dave Stewart), John Lee Hooker, BB King, Ray Charles, Frank Zappa, Buddy Guy, Earl Hooker, Tuck & Patti, Charlie Musselwhite (Muddy Waters), Big Moose Walker, John Mayall (Blues Breakers), David Lindley & Country Joe McDonald.

The band features original Chicago Blues men (from the Muddy Waters era) and modern players (Eurythmics/Tom Waits), against the backdrop of unique and well-written songs that can hold their own against any classic rock artist.

PAST ALBUM REVIEWS:

A SUMMARY OF WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED FROM THIS ARTIST:

The uniquely powerful and soulful voice of Little Wolf on the blues songs makes BB King sound like a shy kitten.

The lap steel of Freddie Roulette -- one of the all-time recognized masters of the steel guitar -- swims through a gorgeous harmonic backdrop. This work by Roulette stands out and cannot previously be heard on any of his solo albums. "Some of Freddie Roulette's most memorable performances were done with Daphne Blue." In a 2006 Times interview, Roulette described his work as: 'Ethereal Rock & ethereal blues ... it's one heck of a combination ... it's a psychological explosion that surprises audiences, and they like to hear it.'

The scratchy and soulful voice of Carlos Guitarlos (from the Tom Waits Band) will makes you feel like staying at home on a rainy day and watching an old black and white film -- he captures this mood as well Louis Armstrong ever did.

Ray Bronner is the bedrock of this band -- a versatile and unique multi-instrumentalist trained by original Chicago blues musicians, and Tuck Andress (Tuck & Patti). His songwriting, electric-&-acoustic guitar work, bass playing, and production are unique, poetic, classic and show why he is repeatedly asked to work with some of the greatest musicians in the industry.

fantastic & mind blowing work
author: J. Ramírez de Arroyo , Mexico City
I was waiting to find a new rock and blues band that had the mojo of the Rolling Stones and the authentic blues and rock sound of Hendrix and Buddy Guy. This album holds its own against Dark Side of the Moon and Hendrix's first three albums.
