Singing in the studio, while working on a project, is one of my greatest passions. I am so pleased to offer my second CD, "Love's Journey," released, May 2009. This project features two original songs. One, the title cut, "Love's Journey," co-written with John Sutton, and the other, "For A Moment You Were Mine," written with co-writers John Sutton and James Prendergast. This entire collection of songs features a Celtic/Irish sound with musicians James Prendergast on guitar, mandola, bouzouki, and mandolin, along with Bill Verdier on fiddle, and John Mock on pennywhistle, bodhran, concertina, and mandolin. Although, Celtic in sound, the songs themselves will be ranging from Irish proper to Led Zeppelin's, "Thank You," Porter Wagoner's, "A Satisfied Mind" and even my version of "1952 Vincent Black Lightning."
One of the greater music wells to fall into is the beautiful, and lively well of Celtic/Irish music. I sincerely hope you enjoy my latest release.... Darcy

Darcy sings totally from the heart in a way that is natural, subtle and moving. Her voice conveys the wisdom and compassion of one who has lived what she is singing about. Her program moves expertly through the range of feelings associated with maturing love, accepting and embracing both its joys and disappointments. Darcy has surrounded herself with accompanists of exquisite taste who bring exactly the right touch to the old tunes, making them fresh and new. Speaking of "new", when you hear her originals, you will think you have always known them. In short: this is a keeper!!

Love's Journey

There are certain sounds that are totally authentic and call up real places and times. The sound of the screen door in To Kill a Mockingbird is one. The sound of this album is another. These songs take me back to summer nights on a porch in Nashville where songs were sung and stories told -- usually at the same time. What can I say. It's the real deal!

Wow!! What a GREAT CD
author: Emil Skobeloff
After an auspicious first CD, Darcy has changed directions from Country to Irish/Celtic with a CD that is both wonderfully refreshing and decidedly Irish in its flavor. The music is still transparent and very faithful to the genre. But, Darcy brings a new, heightened energy to this music that is rousing and commanding of the listener's full attention. In her two new songs, Loves Journey and For a Moment You Were Mine, Darcy touches the listener with the poignancy of the lyrics and folksy warmth of the music. In so doing, she reveals a very intimate glimpse of the depths of her artistic soul. It should also be noted that anyone who knows producer, James Prendergast's Irish routes (The Boys of County Nashville) must surely admire his obvious input. Together, Darcy and James make an unmistakably distinct impression with the CD, Love's Journey. I am blown away!!
