They show up in long, sleepless nights of the restless and brooding. Lines slowly carved into the face. Where every thought ht is a ghost, a wandering soul. Voices in shifting wind. Where the eyes sink back into the darkness of a sleeping world. And the other senses take over.
It is the darkness found in nature, in forests of unseen predators and unspeakable beauty. The moisture of tree rot and cool streams. Steam rising from the bog. Wild, desolate and alive.
It is the darkness of fermenting grapes; sweet, bitter, narcotic. The warm alchemy of music; of love. The transformation. Despair into hope. Wood into fire. Water into life. Insomnia into a dark night of solitude.
Celeste grew up in New York, where her father was a professional piano player/ accordionist, and her mother was a music teacher. She and her siblings formed a band and hit the road early on. From Anchorage to Atlanta and everywhere in between. Since then she’s fronted a diverse assortment of bands; most notably, Downgirl.
Pat, a Los Angeles native, is an artist as well as a musician. His grandparents were silver screen hoofers during the golden age of Hollywood. He too has participated in a wide array of musical projects; from the improvisational Sunz of Zorro to the garage punk DAVE, currently on bass with Hammer In The Bully.
Together they have given birth to Dark Circles. A strange and haunted child.
