Whether playing solo or with his band, this Oregon-born, Tennessee based singer/songwriter walks a captivating line between folk, rock, and pop. While living in Africa in 2001, Darren Johnson embraced his love of making music and promised himself that he would abandon the practical and pursue his passion.

After “taking the I-5 corridor by storm” (The Buffalo Gap – Portland, OR), landing his song Better Than Nothing on Oregon radio, stepping onto some of the biggest festival stages in the Northwest and becoming one of Portland’s most exciting bands, Darren Johnson moved to Tennessee in 2008 where he has continued to expand his audience with his dynamic voice, catchy melodies and honest songwriting.

Recently, The Darren Johnson Effort finished their new single, Superhero, which accompanies his previous releases, The Darren Johnson Effort, EP (2006) and Paradise Bent (2008).
