Album Notes

Textures can only be described as a musical journey. When I originally sat down and planned the CD, my intention was to create a continuous piece of music that re-used themes and loops comprised entirely of shorter tracks of around 2 minutes in length. It's a strange way of doing things but I liked the idea of creating small pieces of music that can stand alone, but also sit together with the whole.

And so Textures was borne. Most of the tracks are 2 minutes and shorter and are entirely instrumental. There's a variety of styles and genres, ranging from calm soundscapes, ambient dance and out-and-out rock and roll.

I am particularly proud of Textures and I hope that those of you who buy a copy will find much on the disc to enjoy.

Darren Lock translates moods and feelings into sound in his newest ambient acheivement, Textures. Short tracks flow into one cohesive package, creating a sense of movement and completeness. Lock uses guitar, keyboard and etheral sounds to take the listeners to mountain peak highs and green valley floors at a mind altering pace. Rock and Soundscapes--A Winning Combination!
author: Nadim S. Haque
Darren recorded a modern "Tubular Bells." The album features great instrumentals ranging from ethereal soundscapes to fast, sometimes even technoish, rock music. The changes of rhythm and mood throughout this collection are sure to keep the listener's attention for hours (I had this on repeat for five hours while walking through Chicago downtown and never got bored or annoyed with it), and the diverse, multi-tracked instrumentation will summon the feeling that this album could hardly have been recorded and produced by one single person. A great album from beginning to end. Well done, Darren! Now, when will we hear more from you?

What r u wating for. Pick this up !!!!
author: Scotty K. Deadbees
Quite pleased to have received a copy of Textures from Darren. After listening and absorbing all 24 procedures, I must say that this is great stuff from Lockville. Just when we think we have heard his best, he gives us more. I will compare it to Kumba, a roller coaster at Busch Gardens in Tampa. At first you are not sure where this journey is taking you, and then up, up and away. Loops, twists, corkscrews, turns. All very smooth and intermingled, but all fitting together like it should. After being brough down (safely I might add), all you can say is WOW, AGAIN, and MORE......A fine addition to the collection.
