Album Notes

Darron "Cookie" Moore is an outstanding representative of today's jazz era, and a striking, musically articulate delegate of the flourishing "underground" circle of artists.

Darron Elec Moore was born May 10th 1974 and was raised in the Detroit area of Michigan, and surrounded at an impressionable age by music in many, many forms, including his physical proximity to Hitsville USA which housed the highly significant and distinguished Motown recording studio. "Cookie" had the building blocks for a strong musical foundation at birth. His mother, Gwendolyn, attended Eastern Michigan with a major in music and saw to it that he and his brothers Derric, Dorion, and Dathan, took piano lessons. His father, Adam Moore Jr., was quite involved as well with music and taught "Cookie" to always strive for his best.

Coming up Darron Elec Moore would enjoy afternoons over his families friends house. One time imparticular they went to Sis. Corean Bozeman's house, this time proved to be a turning point in the life of "Cookie" as we know him now. She had a medium sized bass guitar longing for the touch of musical knowing, laying untouched in her basement. "Cookie" approached the lonely instrument and decided to experiment, not at all aware that his love for this instrument would become one of the most important and nearly neglected aspects of his life. Once it was time to leave, "Cookie" went upstairs to say goodbye and thank you to Sis. Bozeman and also to ask to whom the bass belonged. Sis. Bozeman replied that her son owned the bass, though he no longer wanted it. At that point, "Cookie" asked if he could have it though his parents thought he was out of place for asking such a thing. To their surprise Sis. Bozeman said yes and that was the humble, unforeseen beginning of a life long love affair.

In Fall 1992 , "Cookie" was enrolled at Grambling State University financed through a vocal scholarship. By music being my his love He wanted to see how far it would get him. He had showcase some of his talents in a gospel concert featuring songs written and performed by him and an ensemble that he had put together. The video tape that he had put together was sent to Grambling State. They liked the talent that Darron displayed and gave him a scholarship. There he took vocal classes and sang with the university choir. He really enjoyed the time that he spent down in Lousiana. It was here that Darron really began to developed his style of accompanying church services. One church that sticks out the most was Union Star Baptist Pastor Hall

In 1997-99, He also attended Wayne State University to pursue a degree in music. Here at Wayne State Darron took classes where he learned Pro Audio and how to record tracks. He also song with the university choir. He was briefly discouraged by his trial by jury and the grade received for his performance. While quite pleased with his arrangement, his jury was offended by his use of a six string bass guitar, as opposed to the use of a traditional four string. At that point, "Cookie" decided to leave the music program at Wayne, and pursue his music independently. This experience is what led to his becoming a pioneer in the underground industry.

As an independent artist with two releases and owner of Darron Elec Moore Multi Productions, his focus has become the honing of his skills and his craft, the free expression of his divine gift. His interest also lies with the cultivation of aspiring artists, to teach them how to work the soils of their divine skills and the hard times of the music industry. To illustrate with the notes of his bass and the experience that time has given him, that they can reap rewards if only they plant their seeds appropriately.
