This Minnesota ode celebrates characters and landmarks long gone from the cityscape. It speaks of a period of time when Snaker Ray, Little Sun, and Spider John worked the Scholar and mesmerized a kid from Hibbing named Zimmerman...when music filled the air from the counter of the Electric Fetus to the tiny stage of the Triangle Bar, and the entire West Bank hummed and buzzed with energy and electricity. These touchstones and icons may hvae vanished from the North Country...but these songs and the vivid imagery within them brinig it back home for just a little bit, for the sake of the song, for as long as the music lasts. --Joe Nick Patoski
