D A R U N A M was founded in New York City in early 2007 when two accomplished artists decided to dedicate themselves to a full time music project. Manu Narayan and Radovan Jovicevic first met and performed at the 2006 Bollywood Fashion Awards and knew that they had something unique. As their friendship grew so grew their desire to combine their talents to form a truly special collaboration. The Neo World Rock (Rock/Pop with a world beat groove) sound of D A R U N A M brings together the rhythms and melodies of three distinct cultures, America, India, and the Balkans. Lead singer Manu Narayan and guitarist Radovan Jovicevic bring a ton of music and performance experience and success to the table, creating this unique sound and making for a truly exciting future.

Manu Narayan’s vocal accomplishments range from singing with Cyndi Lauper and The Band’s Garth Hudson to performing for dignitaries that include Queen Elizabeth II, President George W. Bush, Prince Phillip, Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, and Senator Hillary Clinton. He has recorded singles for the upcoming film starring Vanessa Williams And Then Came Love and the film Hiding Divya. Manu is also an award winning classical saxophonist in South Indian Karnatic music, which he studied with Indian saxophonist Kadri Gopalnath in Mangalore, India. Touring most of South India, he played with some of the subcontinents most accomplished musicians. In addition to his musical career Manu Narayan is an accomplished actor who has acted in straight plays, musicals, on TV and Film. As an actor Manu is most widely known for originating the “hero” Akaash in the hit Andrew Lloyd Webber/A.R. Rahman musical Bombay Dreams on Broadway for which he garnered a New York Drama League nomination. On TV he guest stars in the upcoming Cashmere Mafia produced by Darren Star and on M.O.N.Y produced by Fontana/ Levinson and directed by Spike Lee. He also can be seen in episodes of the Sopranos, Law and Order SVU, and As the World Turns

Radovan Jovicevic has enjoyed huge success as a songwriter and musician with his previous European based band Zana. In addition, he has written numerous award-winning hits for other European artists. As the founder, songwriter and lead guitarist for Zana, Radovan earned six Gold Records, three Platinum Records and collectively sold over 5,000,000 records. His music has been used for countless movies, commercials and music videos. He is the recipient of many European Grammy and Emmy awards for his body of work. Radovan is not only an accomplished touring star but also an incredible songwriter and musician.

Although newly formed, D A R U N A M is bursting with creativity. Most days are spent either recording and creating upcoming singles in the Studio or planning for their first single and subsequent music video to be released in the early Summer 2007. But most of the time they are laughing, talking about girls and eating Chicken Tikka Masala with a sides of Gibanica and of course Rakia. Get on board or get out of the way ‘cause this trains’ a ‘rollin!
