Album Notes

David Dault recently moved to Nashville after spending a decade in the Atlanta music scene. He plays guitar (loud), plays piano (pretty), plays banjo (poorly), writes songs and sings. He also writes songs with the amazing and multitalented Thad Thompson, who plays bass in Atlanta band the Shut-Ups.

David's music draws from folk, 'college rock', 'math rock', and experimental jazz to form a style that is at once engaging and inventive. A longtime favorite with fellow musicains and fans alike, he has made his mark in clubs across the southeast with his painterly, expressionistic lyrics and distinctive guitar phrasings.

"...impressive, heartfelt, and genuine from start to finish..."
author: BabySue Music Reviews
Pop/rock in the same general vein as Richard Thompson and Bob Mould. David Dault and Thad Thompson traveled to Athens, Georgia to record Here is the Post Card. These ten tunes are the result. Dault and Thompson write and record guitar-based pop music with a nice organic feel. Some of the tunes are acoustic while others rock rather hard. The guitars are often dense and multi-layered...adding a slightly surreal sound to some of the tracks. We are particularly impressed with the vocals...impressive, heartfelt, and genuine from start to finish. Cool compositions include "Easting by the Psalms" (our favorite), "My Short Story," "Specific Gravity," and "Merkan Courage." (Rating: 5 out of 6 babysues)
