Some people are born to follow, others are born to lead. In an industry plagued with so many negative images of drugs, sex, and violence, rapper and music consultant Richard Dauphin stands out as a light in the midst of darkness. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Richard was greatly influenced by music and its profound effect it had on people. He states that, "Music is a universal language that can be understood by anyone regardless of religious, social and ethnic background." What sets Richard apart from most artists in the industry is his ability to convey an introspective glance into the mind and hearts of listeners. He is a prophetic voice crying out to a people searching for purpose, love and hope. Understanding his platform and his audience, Richard, along with long time friend Mekah Nizum (pronounced Mecca Ni-zum) in 2005 launched their own independent record label dubbed Holyfire Productionz. Their goal is to transform the face of the music industry by bringing inspiration message back into the marketplace. When asked about Holyfire, Richard stands on the biblical verse from the book of Romans 8:31 which reads, " If GOD be for us, who can be against us." Richard has been currently creating a buzz in the New York area where he has performed in numerous venues including the world famous Apollo Theater on April 25th. He has also been interviewed by the nationally recognized newspaper The New York Times in the September 13th issue about his involvement in the Holy Hip Hop movement. Richard is currently performing all across the east coast at different colleges, music conferences and outdoor festivals. The sky is the the limit for this Brooklyn born MC who is truly a diamond in the rough and a definite force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
