Album Notes

Dave Eichenberger gets a lot of sounds out of his guitar all at once. He improvises dense soundscapes all in real time, then loops those sounds all while recording the entire process.
"Volume 1" takes a trip across the many sounds of the electric guitar treated in various ways. Whether triggering piano, drums, or just processed through effects, it rarely sounds like the electric guitar we know although there is some of that too.
"Collectives" was the grant winning 50 CD set of hour long CDs that were made and sold- but only one copy of each, so when it was bought, the person had the only copy ever made, much like an original painting. Each copy had it's own artwork and unique name. This sampler combines various bits into an hour long piece (all songs fade into one another), but you can hear the various styles and improvisations making up the set. The word "Collectives" refers to the term describing a group of animals, like 'a pride of lions' or 'a school of fish' although the ones here are less well-known.
