Dave Ellis is the former lead singer of the group DOBRA ZUBY, who's debut CD "HAPPY EVER AFTER" received much critical acclaim.
Hailing originally from the Chicago area, Dave moved to Seattle and soon thereafter formed the funk/rock outfit known as EDISON JONES. While he enjoyed the packed dance floors and smoke and lights, Dave longed to one day return to his acoustic guitar roots, which he did in 1990. Opening shows for the likes of Ricki Lee Jones, Richard Marx, the Beach Boys and others, Dave quickly became known as a major force on the local and regional music scene.
Life has a way of turning things in a different direction sometimes, though, and Dave took time off to start a family and get a "real job".
He returned to the scene with the release of"HAPPY EVER AFTER", and now has his first solo album release entitled "HOPELESS SINNERS". The songs are acoustic guitar driven, with fine players adding upright bass, drums, mandolin, electric guitar, pedal steel, keyboards, and accordian. The sound is sparse and sweet, the songs a mixture of folk, country, pop, and bluegrass.
This is definitely an artist to watch....
