So, here we have a collection of Dave’s songs, lovingly portrayed by the singer himself with a little help from his friends, and spiced with (com)passion and humour, and with a distinct touch of North of England raw delicacy. Tony Sheridan, Seestermuehe,

Album Notes
Dave Humphries hails from Durham City in the Northeast of England and has lived in San Diego since 1996. While living in England, Dave played in various bands, doing clubs and pubs. But it was when he arrived in California that his music career took off.
Humphries specializes in melodic pop crossed with good time rock ‘n’ roll, in the grand tradition of Badfinger, The Lovin’ Spoonful and The Beatles. Over the course of his three albums to date, he has honed his craft, zeroing in on strong song hooks. In particular 2006’s 38 Days, made a few waves, scoring him spots in Southland music festivals and media, including an appearance on KUSI-TV. The disc also earned Humphries a nomination in that year’s San Diego Music Awards. More importantly the disc included an appearance from legendary rocker Tony Sheridan. It was the start of a beautiful friendship.

Why am I not surprised? That is one killer of an album! I have played it more times than I care to admit but I can admit that it shines in all the right places. I’m not just saying this....... It feels like “real” period pieces rather than retro stuff and the lyrics stand on their own as well.

Dave, your CD is amazing! From the first track, I can see why people say it’s reminiscent of the Beatles...BUT and this is the important thing it’s NOT the Beatles. It’s Dave Humphries, and you have a unique and signature sound all your own. It’s a captivating sound full of wonderful melodies, arrangements, and lyrics. But most of all, it of course comes down to (as I said to Tony), the goddam SONGWRITING! And your songwriting is superb.
