Recorded in Nashville and New York with a cast of guest musicians including fiddle virtuoso Peter Hyrka (Gypsy Hombres) and steel guitar wizard John Widgren (Victoria Shaw, Western Caravan, Commander Cody & his Lost Planet Airmen), Prodigal Son's nine songs on themes of relationships, family, and redemption range in tone from exuberant rockers to haunting, classically-influenced chamber folk. Isaacs' resonant baritone voice is complemented and supported throughout by his formidable instrumental prowess on acoustic steel- and nylon-string guitars, electric guitar, and mandolin.
Reviews:
Dave Isaacs is a classically-trained guitarist who has melded the technical expertise of his past very structured musical study with the originality, freedom and creativity of roots rock and other influences. Prodigal Son, his debut solo release, showcases his talented writing, singing, and guitar performance.

American roots rock!
author: Laura T Lynch of Kweevak.com
This nine-track collection is a reflective look at relationships and redemption. Dynamic arrangements feature dynamic guitar work complemented with the fiddle, steel and the mandolin. Subtle solid beats and varied musical styles add to the fullness and diversity of Prodigal Son. A mixture of moods is captured on this CD from gentle instrumentals to down home rockers. The opening song 'Isabella' is a soulful bluesy story sung in David's rich baritone voice. First class instrumentation and passionate playing add to the touching tone of the tune. 'Never Giving Up' has funky textures juxtaposed with graceful guitar work. It is a cornucopia of unique sounds and top-notch musicianship. The closer is a vivid instrumental called 'Elegy' showcasing classical guitars accented with subtle strings, a magical combination. David Isaacs' shines brightly on his solo release!
