Album Notes

Dave Isaacs has been called "a master musician" and "a natural-born storyteller". His virtuoso abilities as a guitarist are anchored by finely developed songcraft, a classically-trained musician's melodic sense, and a jazzman's improvisational spirit.

Recorded at VuDu Studio in Freeport, NY with veteran engineer Bob Stander at the board and playing bass, Flying features ten Isaacs compositions performed on a collection of Parker Fly guitars. From the Wes Montgomery-inspired "Front Porch Swing" to the ambient poetry of "Sunrise" to the spaghetti-western-on steroids tribute "The Lonesome Gunslinger Saves The Day", Isaacs' stylistic range and command are evident throughout. Five tracks feature journeyman drummer Steve Holley, best known for his work with Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Joe Cocker.

"Dave Isaacs' proficiency as a master musician is evident."
Roots Music Report

"I got your CD, and I absolutely love it! I'm particularly amazed by the guitar work...
some of the best I've heard. Best of all your music is utterly soulful."

REVIEWS

Excellent cd. Would buy another instrumental cd by him.

I heard a cut in a CD thatcame with the latest edition of "Jazz Improv" magazine. I liked the cut and took a chance by buying the whole CD. I was favorably impressed. Great licks and great feel. I would buy another instrumental CD by Isaacs.

Dave changes up what one might expect and delivers a full instrumental effort
author: Steve Ekblad ~ audiogrid.com
"Flying" is far from what I expected and yet in a way, no surprise. Dave is one of the most talented guitarists and performers on the planet and just hasn't be recognized by the public at the level of some of his peers. Dave changes up what one might expect and delivers a full instrumental effort with many colors and shades largely influenced by jazz. Dave's performance on "Flying" is a treat and will provide many listens for me. I urge you to give Dave a listen and pick up "Flying" and enjoy a superb guitar performance! ~ steve ekblad audiogrid.com
