Album Notes

Here comes this new talent from Zurich, Switzerland! Having carried his stones - that others would call songs - for many years, the time had come to lay them down, hence the title of his new CD: \"Stones\". What all began as a dream long ago has gradually become a debut album fueled by the expectation to meet success beyond the Swiss boarders. Over the last ten years, Dave Kull has not only demonstrated his musical skills within a variety of bands but has also revealed his talents as a songwriter. Countless live performances in small clubs and in front of large audiences has also brought along a great deal of maturity.

Dave considers his debut album not only as a contemporary pop / rock record stamped with a Swiss label but much more as a strong means of communication. Being a very versatile artist, Dave not only composed every song of the album but he also played guitar and bass on all the tracks. Furthermore he has taken over the responsibility of the entire arrangement in order to best translate his own musical ideas. Dave has closely collaborated with producer Matthias Heimlicher – who works with well-known musicians that also play for artists such as Ricky Martin, Sting, Xavier Naidoo and bands like Toto and Take 6.

On the drums was none other than Kenny Aronoff (Avril Lavigne, Elton John, Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, Alanis Morissette, The Rolling Stones) whose fruitful contribution on the project holds in these words:
\"I really enjoyed working with Matthias Heimlicher on Dave Kull\'s CD. The combination of serious song writing and pure emotions in the music inspired me to be creative and play with power and passion; the way I like to play.\"

Influenced by bands such as Coldplay, Travis and U2, Dave has nevertheless developed over the years his own distinctive style. He not only has a character voice, which immediately fascinates and touches the soul, but also performs a subtle balancing act between profound lyrics, melancholic melodies and a playful lightness. In that register, the beautiful voice of Nikola Rachelle (sister of Daniel & Natasha Bedingfield) can be heard in the duet \"Faith over Fear\". Other songs boosted by solid guitar riffs such as \"Lift me up\" or \"Sweet Momentum\" seduce through their rebel and roguish tone what faithfully reflect some traits of their author’s character.
