ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
As I was assembling the material for Retrospective, it beacme clear that there was a wealth of potential for an album of brand new compositions that would make use of the technology that I was already using in some intereting ways. While I did continue to use the BIAB Real Tracks as sort of digital session players (with musical control exerted heavily in post-production), I also built some of the arrangements from the ground up exclusively using Finale and the library of Garritan samples where I didn't have timely access to live players (such as In the Cloud and Hyperfocus). At first, I was hesitant to use the samples and Real Tracks so readily, but if used properly, they can be a tool--an instrument--like any other. The result is this collection of pieces which I hope you enjoy.

Contributing Musicians:
Dave Listwa, saxophones
Scott Tuttle, guitar
Andrew Korbel, bass
