I am a High-Energy enthusiastic sax player that has a passion to minister/perform using my sax. I love to engage the audience during all my performances. In 2005, I received the Instrumental of the Year Award at the Kansas City Christian Music Awards. My CD “Soar” is available.
I am currently working on my 2nd CD project.
Bio
At age ten I started playing the Clarinet. My influences at that time were Benny Goodman, Pete Fountain, Dixieland jazz and big band sounds from the 1940’s. In High School I started playing the saxophone. I eventually then played in the Schaumburg High School jazz band. I went on to college and obtained an engineering degree from Bradley University in Peoria, IL. While at Bradley, I continued to play the clarinet in the wind ensemble and saxophone in the jazz band. After I graduated from Bradley, I played in various groups and did recordings around in the Chicago Area. Styles included Jazz, Blues, Reggae, Pop, Heavy Metal, and Classical. Beginning in 1984 I became a part of Willow Creek Community Church and started playing in the orchestra and studio band. I served there for ten years before moving to Kansas City, Mo. I am married with three children, Henry, Eleanor, and Samuel. I have a passion for ministering using my saxophone. I play alto/tenor/soprano/baritone saxophones and flute. I perform at churches, coffee houses, outdoor festivals, nursing homes and have done a few radio/TV shows. In April of 2005, I received an award for Instrumental Of The Year at the Kansas City Christian Music Awards. I display high energy with much enthusiasm and . I love to engage the audience during all my performances. Musically, I play a wide range of styles that appeal to all age groups. I have one CD out entitled “Soar” and currently working on a second smooth jazz CD project.
