Album Notes

Eight Storeys is a breathtaking work of depth, beauty and fragility from guitarist Dave Randall. The understated arrangements combine circular acoustic guitar motifs, cello, piano, otherwordly vocals and soaring electric guitar in wonderfully emotive compositions. Rhythmically playful moments reminiscent of Philip Glass morph into stark soundscapes more akin to those conjured by Iceland's Sigur Ros. Throughout a sense of economy and simplicity define an album which is both soothing and haunting in equal measure. A stunning piece of work." - Spacious Music

REVIEWS

Spacious, detailed and a restful sonic delight.

I write a headphone column for a webpage 'Private Ear' @ www.audioenz.co.nz. I have been using this recording as a test track in reviewing Grado gear and a Pro-Ject headphone amplifier. What a combination. This CD is dense, with lovely rich textures and is a delightful mixture of acoustic and electronic sounds. Apart from being an enjoyable listen it is demanding enough technically to make a good test track. Well done.
