Described by Akustic Gitarre, Germany as “…Music to listen to, be amazed by, and to dream upon,” The Lone Wild Bird is a collection of virtuosic instrumental arrangements of African-American spirituals and 19th century American hymns. Composed by the performer, these hymn arrangements are all based on melodies constructed of the pentatonic scale that became the trademark of New World music.
Using these melodies as a point of departure, David Rogers weaves complex, intricate, and virtuosic instrumental guitar textures around these beautiful and well-known hymn tunes.
