Album Notes

My name is Dave Roy and I was born and raised in Washington D.C. I started playing the guitar at the age of 12 years old. My dad had started me out with a few chords and I just took it from there. I discovered that I had something special when I would be able to here a piece of music and then play it the way it was on the record. I had a talent and gift of being able to do this. At the age of 17 I went on my first tour. A short time later I went on my first world tour. By the age of 20 I had already played with national artist such as The True Reflections of Atlantic Records, Millie Jackson, Rufus Thomas, Denise LaSalle, and soon The Wilson Pickett Band, played with members of Paliment Funkadelic. My first professional band was Point Blank whom I went on my first tour with and then 2000 A.D. with whom I went on the world tour with. I have shared the stage with many national artist like, The Commadores, The Drifters, BB King, Clarence Carter and many other secular artist. I was also the music director for the Legendary Clovers (the group that did Love Potion#9). At age 32 I gave my heart to the Lord and some of the christian artists that I played with are The TL Lowery Singers, Authority, The Godd Squad and have recorded with many others. I have played with the praise and worship bands at The National Church of God, Evangel Assembly, South Potomac Church for the Rock Church Ministries and more. God has allowed me to be music director and music minister for some churches in the Maryland area. I play lead guitar for Chesapeake Church in Huntingtown Md. I really enjoy playing with this team for they play a variety of praise and worship that reaches the old and the young, with traditional and the contemporary music. God placed this CD on my heart a few years ago but had been so busy playing for others and helping others with there projects and had put mine on hold. I have always been one to help others and get to me later. God put this CD in my heart very heavy a little over a year ago and I obeyed the Lord and got this project done. It has been such a weight off of me since it has been completed. God has blessed me with a great bunch of guys to work with in completing this project. The talent is so unbelievable with the sounds of Melvin Miles on the keyboards, Cecil Issac on the drums, Sean Law on the 4,5, and 6 string basses, and Moses Holmes on the saxophone. This CD is a mixture of rock, blues, traditional, funk, ballads and instrumentals. There is something on this CD that would be pleasing to both young, middle aged and old alike.
