Dave Widow and the Line-up have been a staple on the LA blues scene for the last 10 years. Their mix of Funky Blues-Rock ,R&B, and Classic blues is finally available on CD. This group's members include some very noteworthy musicians, having played and recorded with such artists as Steve Miller, Keb Mo, Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison, Etta James, and many others. Dave's originally from Cincinnati where his guitar playing and gutsy vocals earned him a spot playing with a Mike Bloomfield band member and cohort (the late) Roger "Jellyroll" Troy, and other musicians from that region, including guitar legend Lonnie Mack. Since Dave's move to Los Angeles, he's met and played with some of LA's most notable session players. Dave's group The "line-up" includes such notables as Gary Mallaber, who's drums can be heard on such records as "Fly Like an Eagle", "Like a Rock", "Tupelo Honey", "Two Tickets to Paradise", "Moondance", and many more. On the bass, Reggie McBride, who has played with such artists as B. B. King, Elton John, Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, and countless others. Marty Grebb finishes off the Quartet on this cd. Marty's keyboards and sax have graced the recordings of people like Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal and others.
The "Line-up", together with Dave's unorthodoxed, finger-pickin' guitar lines is a "must have" for your cd collection. This group has too many heavyweight notables to ignore! Not to mention it sounds great !!
