Album Notes

8-string guitarist Dave Wood has taken a giant step forward after years spent behind the scenes as a sideman in several successful bands. Échappée means escape....escaping musical boundaries, genres and titles that we are so anxious to embroider on everything new that we hear. No limits, no restrictions, no holding back.

Dave can currently be seen all across America with ‘American Idol’ winner Taylor Hicks. Playing lead guitar, Dave can be seen on the Tonight Show w/Jay Leno, Regis & Kelly, The View, Good Morning America, CBS Early Show and many more. His guitar work can be heard on the film trailer for ‘Idiocracy’ and in Nicholas Cage’s ‘Ghost Rider’. Dave has worked with many great artists including Norah Jones, Antonio Sanchez (Pat Metheny), Maria Schneider, Chris Johnson (Stevie Wonder) and Big Dume (David Foster).

Dave put together an amazing cast for Échappée....on drums, Chris Michael, with a guest spot by Doug Clark on the title track, Dave Hertzberg on upright bass, Matt Shulman on trumpet, Andy Parsons on saxophone, Nick Mancini on vibes, Roland Satterwhite vocalist on Cannon Love, and Christian Howes on violin and viola.

Never Stops Growing on you
author: Bryan Powers
This album is the first of what will be many staple albums for Dave Wood I am sure. He was my guitar, drum and bass teacher when he was 18 and I was 14 and if I could play now like he did at 18, I would probably be at my peak. Virtoustic talent mixed with taste, soul and creativity is all this now Memphian could ask for. I don't plan on taking this one out of my car CD player for quite some weeks. Thanks Dave.

Incredible album! Dave has created some music that won't be boxed in by conforming to one style. Innovative ideas, handled by first rate musicians. Something wonderfully new to let your ears get a grasp of.
