Dave Young has performed professionally as a bassist since age 16. Approximately 15 years ago, he started performing vocally with bands for whom he played bass, graduating rapidly to lead male vocalist and now leads his own band. He has developed a rich, smooth vocal style which, with his talent on bass, results in a winning combination. He has mastered 4, 5, 6 and 7-string, fretted and fretless bass and has performed as bassist, and backup vocalist, with the following acts:
The Manhattans; Herb Reed and The Platters; Sleepy LeBeef; Eric Preston's Purple Haze
He has performed in the opening act for:
Johnny Cash; Joe Diffie; Roy Clark; The Gatlin Brothers; George Jones; The Kendalls; Loretta Lynn; Willie Nelson
Among Dave's awards are:
* Nashville's Entertainer-Indi Association 1997 Most Promising Artist
* Massachusetts Country Music Awards Association:
- 1994 Bass Player of the Year 1993, 94 and 95 Vocal Harmony of the Year
- 1993, 94, and 95 4-piece Band of the Year
- Nominee 1996-2001, 3 or 4 piece Band of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year,
