REVIEWS

Excellent resource for anyone
author: Jack DeMilles / beginning singer

I've looked at reviews for the "study-at-home" courses of many self-proclaimed vocal gurus, and while there have been many good things said, there have also been scathing remarks aplenty. When I came here and saw that all the reviews for Mr. Jones' CD-set were good, I figured I should go ahead and give a try to a resource that is based on tried-and-true classical technique. I received the CDs, and I must say they are excellent. I have learned much from them, and even though they do not take the place of a good vocal professional (as Mr. Jones himself will tell you) or an in-depth vocal pedagogy course/book, they still have something to offer everyone. I’ll admit I haven't had the time to use the CDs very consistently, I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my voice the times I HAVE taken the time to follow the exercises properly (as opposed to just listening to the explanations while driving). It’s as if my voice opens up and gets freer as I go along. This 2-CD vocal pedagogy course is definitely a help if you have a tired, weak, or breathy voice in speaking or singing. If you are a beginner or an in-between-teachers person who is still looking for a good instructor, by all means, purchase the CDs and follow the exercises to prep your voice for an in-depth study, as the exercises are meant to help all general areas of the voice. If you’re a trained singer but don’t always know where to start or end in your daily exercise routines while waiting for the next performance/gig, this just might be the thing to keep your voice in shape. Whatever your skill level or intent, if you wish to help your speaking or singing voice, try Mr. Jones’ “Introductory Lesson”. This isn’t a gamble; it’s a sure thing.

Fabulous set

This CD is fabulous! David's instructions have not only given me insight on bad habits developed through the years, but terrific exercises to address them. My high range is returning and my middle range is becoming more flexible. What a joy! Thank you David Jones!!

Amazing Results

I have been taking voice lessons for 2 years. My voice teacher is excellent, but there were some concepts I just couldn't get. I ordered the CD's after reading Maestro Jones's articles on his website. After 30 minutes of practice I was able to clear up much of the breathiness in my tone and I had much more flexibility and increased range. My voice teacher was very impressed with the drastic improvement in my voice. Very straightforward and easy to understand. I can't say enough how happy I am. Thank you so much. I feel like I can fulfill my singing dreams.

This CD has helped me immensly with my self studies and private practicing. I recognize most concepts from my bel canto teacher, who was taught by the same grand teacher as Luciano Pavarotti. The instructions are straightforward and logical, easy to grasp. Mr. Jones did an amazing job with compiling a neat CD to help you make most out of your potential.
