David Anthony recorded all 12 tracs on a genunine, Deadwood, SD Upright Grand Piano. The sound quaility captured the 1890 feel perfectly. David calls this piano his "Ragtime Machine". There is a lever on the left hand side of the piano that ,when pulled down, drops metal tabs in front of the hammers. David says "when I pull that lever down it's like going back in time. I just close my eyes and pretend that I'm back in the early Deadwood SD days."
David is known for his peaceful and relaxing music, but this New cd is not that! "The Other Side of The Black Hills" is actually the other side of David Anthony. It is David Anthony reinvented. It is music that has his obvious signature of originality, but takes you back to a very enjoyable style of the 1890 Deadwood Era. (Are you listening Kevin Kosner?)
