Album Notes

David's music reflects a rich childhood growing up in a musical family and attending and playing at folk festivals throughout the Northeastern US. He began singing with his family and playing fiddle, mandolin, and guitar when he was 10 years old and hasn't stopped since. Since 1984, David has used his music to make connections with children and teachers in schools, writing songs and lessons that create caring classrooms that foster empathy and inclusion. He was an original member of the children's band Dog on Fleas and played with the Fleas for 9 years. David also recorded a collection of original children's music Dance of A Child's Dreams with Jay Ungar and Molly Mason which won a Parent's Choice Gold Award in 1993.

In the last few years, David has worked as a visiting educator for many schools throughout the United States and beyond, and the songs on The Bully Tapes were all written to help children talk about the difficult issue of bullying in caring and meaningful ways.
