In our technologically changing world, there are two inventions which have affected our lives in a very personal way: the photograph and the phonograph. The ability to record sight and sound has enabled us to capture moments in time and “freeze” them to remember later. What a wonderful thing it is to browse through the old picture album and reminisce about days gone by (“My how the kids have grown!” “Why, here's a picture of Aunt Jean.” “See how much thinner I was back then?!”)
This album is a collection of many “snapshots:” Sound Pictures, if you will. As a photo album is a collection of pictures over time, so this album includes snapshots of music written and recorded over a period of many years. Hearing these songs brings pictures to my mind of friends working together to make music, both fun and frustration in the recording studio, and the memories of many people who were on our minds as we wrote the lyrics. As you listen and share these sound pictures from David's heart, I hope it will inspire you to truly cherish every moment of this precious life God has given to us.
