Album Notes

David Baker is a solo guitarist from the San Francisco bay area whose music might be found as a soundtrack to a documentary or film or could be listened to at home while reading, studying or relaxing. His guitar sound resembles that of a keyboard rather than a straight-forward use of the the instrument as heard in the pop or rock genres of music. His is a music that can find it's way into the routine of work without interfering with the task, or could be the soundtrack to a cross-country road trip in the car CD player. While a long list of musical influences would be epic in length to mention, the impetus for the music is life itself and the meditation on a single moment or instant of intensely realized emotions while the music is an extension of that emotion, fully realized.

This album is so creative and simply touching. It seems David is careful with each note to make sure you are really feeling each wave of sound. Delicious variety of sounds and spaces created, modest and still so evocative! I find myself being very present and in the moment, when I have this album on, when it is in the background, I would feel it beckoning me from time to time. Reminding me to enjoy every moment calmly and enjoyably. So I sit a while with it and find time simply stands still. It is a lullaby, it is a serenade and my stereo system is very in love with it. I will sleep with it singing into the night tonight. Beautiful offering and I look forward to future creations! ~ Vi An (World Music artist www.myspace.com/vian)
