Album Notes

David Bavas is a singer-songwriter originally from the
Pennsylvania foothills of the Appalachian Mountains,
now living in Seattle, Washington. David’s music has
been called bedroom-hush indie-folk, with craggy
vocals and a hypnotic pull. He is influenced by such
contemporary artists as Chan Marshall, Will Oldham,
and Richard Buckner. The songs have a
singer-songwriter sensibility, now backed up by his
band The Down Comforter: Travis Hartnett on guitar,
Kevin Millard on bass, Taryn Webber on cello, and the
multi-talented Brady Hall on drums. David’s
self-titled debut album is David Bavas and the Down
Comforter.

great lyrics, a distinctive voice, and a strong performance by the whole band. from the opening 'sorry' until the final track, 'winter', david bavas and the down comforter do not disappoint. check out 'silence' for an intimate duet, and 'car' for amazing guitar work (that can be said for the whole album)--but really, every song is noteworthy. don't miss out on this opportunity to add an outstanding record to your collection!
