Another Stand-out CD !!
author: Ken Mackey
Pure artistry. I search for music of this quality constantly. It is rare and that\'s too bad. I am anxiously looking forward to David\'s next CD, \"I Like That\". I am sure it will be a stand-out, too!

very refreshing;a new pat metheny

each song has its own distint style and message; wonderfully soothing and meditative, with more than a pinch of excitement;sounds like a pat metheny clone, and that's not easy to pull off!

An essential for your collection!

There's an old steel bridge in Los Gatos, California that's used by pedestrians and bicyclists to cross over a busy freeway. On each side of the pathway are paintings by local school children. Guitarist David Boswell was inspired by these colorful and unique expressions, and thought about how art, whether audible or visual, "creates the ultimate bridge between people of all different generations, races, cultures, and languages..." Thus was born the beautifully composed and beautifully performed BRIDGE OF ART. Ten Boswell originals, with David playing electric guitars, both six and twelve string acoustic guitars, synth guitars, synthesized keyboards, plus contributing wordless vocalizing on selected tracks. The band includes his brother, John (who has 7 CD's of this own) on piano, bassist Dean Taba, percussionist M.B. Gordy, and drummer Tim McIntyre. In trying to describe this album, the word "exquisite" comes to mind. Listening to it brings me deep, breath-taking sighs of satisfaction in response to its beauty, depth and richness. It really takes Smooth Jazz into another realm, well put by David himself when he says, "I guess I kneel at the altar of eclecticism, but why should so much smooth jazz sound the same?" His doesn't, and that's the incredible appeal of BRIDGE OF ART, from the gentle "Salute to Kindness" (a dedication to David's father) to the soaring "Let's Go" and the delightful first radio single, "Simple Life." David Boswell's BRIDGE OF ART is a joy and an inspiration, and definitely is an essential for your collection! ~SCOTT O'BRIEN
