Thank you Music Lovers Everywhere!
Here is my first Christmas album. I have been promising people that I would record this for a long time. This album is special to me because I recorded it on my Steinway B at my studio during July and August. This particular piano has been a labor of love that I have been restoring for the past four years with the help of Brant Leonard. I am happy with the sound of the piano now and look forward to recording more albums with it. This album contains many of my favorite Christmas songs that I heard growing up in Bay City, Michigan. I’ll always remember singing Silent Night with candle in hand leaving the Presbyterian Church. In my arrangement of this song I modulate up a half step five times to give it a sense of being uplifted. Did you know that Mel Torme wrote the Christmas song in Los Angeles in ninety-degree heat of July? I included several songs from the Charlie Brown Christmas for children and young at heart — I love Vince Guaraldi’s music. I also included several Carols that I had fun rearranging. Here … enjoy!
Special thanks to: My wife Janet for your design ability. My son Dawson, pictured on the cover, for your pure wonderment. The Chown’s, for your continued support and encouragement all these years. The Mortensen’s, for your generosity with the down payment on the Steinway for our wedding gift. To Brant Leonard for your great help on restoring my piano. And all my friends and fans out there — I Love Ya!
